In plain language
No advertising cookies. No tracking cookies. No analytics that follow you.
By default this site stores two things, both in your own browser and neither sent to us: whether you chose light or dark, and — only while you are signing up — the progress of that sign-up.
That is why there is no cookie banner. We have nothing to ask you to consent to.
This summary is for convenience only. The numbered clauses below are the agreement.
1. The short version
This Cookie Policy explains what Trendifyr Tech (Private) Limited stores on your device when you visit https://www.desktunnel.com. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.
We use no cookies for advertising, no cookies for cross-site tracking, and no third-party tracking scripts. What we store is listed in full in section 3.
2. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep and send back on later visits. Local storage and session storage are browser facilities that let a site keep data on your device without sending it anywhere — local storage until it is cleared, session storage only until the tab is closed.
We use the latter two, not cookies. The practical difference for you is that this data is never transmitted to our servers at all; it stays in your browser.
3. What we actually use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
desktunnel-theme | Local storage | Remembers whether you chose the light or the dark theme, so the site does not revert on your next visit. | Until you clear it |
desktunnel-signup | Session storage | Holds the progress of a sign-up in flight — which step you are on, the plan and billing cycle you chose, and the token identifying that sign-up. It exists so that returning from the payment page does not land you on an empty form. It contains no password and no card details. | Until the tab is closed |
Both are strictly necessary or functional: the first implements a preference you expressly set, the second is required to deliver a service you asked for.
4. What we do not use
- advertising or re-targeting cookies;
- cross-site tracking cookies or tracking pixels;
- social-media embeds that set cookies;
- third-party analytics such as Google Analytics;
- browser fingerprinting, of any kind;
- any mechanism that builds a profile of you, here or anywhere else.
We do not sell or share browsing data. There is none to sell.
5. Third parties
Fonts. The typefaces are served from this site, not from a font provider. Nothing is requested from a third party in order to render a page.
Payment. If you reach the payment step of a sign-up, you are taken to SafePay’s own hosted checkout. What SafePay stores there is governed by SafePay’s privacy and cookie policies, not by this one. We never see your card details.
Server logs. Our hosting records ordinary web-server access logs — IP address, time, path requested, response status and user-agent. These are not cookies; they are a by-product of serving a request, used for security and diagnostics and covered by the Privacy Policy.
6. Why there is no cookie banner
Under the ePrivacy Directive and comparable laws, consent is required for storage that is not strictly necessary to provide a service the user has requested. Everything in section 3 falls within that exemption: one records a preference you set yourself, the other is necessary to complete a sign-up you started.
We would rather not interrupt you with a dialogue that has no real choice in it. If we ever introduce storage that does require consent, we will ask for it properly — before setting it, with a genuine option to decline.
7. How to remove or block it
You are in control of everything described here, and nothing we store survives you clearing it.
- Clear it: use your browser’s “clear browsing data” or “clear site data” function for this site.
- Block it: most browsers can block site data for a specific site. The theme toggle will still work for the visit; it just will not be remembered.
- Private browsing: everything is discarded when the window closes.
What breaks if you block it: the site will open in the theme your system prefers rather than the one you chose, and a sign-up interrupted by the payment page may have to be started again. Nothing else is affected.
8. The DeskTunnel application
This policy is about the website. The DeskTunnel application is not a browser and uses no cookies. It stores its settings in an encrypted file on your own computer, described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Changes
If we change what we store we will update this page and the date at the top of it. A change that introduces non-essential storage will be accompanied by a request for your consent.
